3. Shoot something that identifies your location.

Though you may have spent much of your trip in the hotel lounge, these often tend to look the same all over the world. So at least take an establishing shot of the skyline from your hotel window. Seeing a recognizable item will aid you when trying to go through your photos later – “OK, there’s the Munich train station, so after this is the Germany stuff.”
