2. Focus on focusing.

The closer you get, the more sensitive your camera will be to bumps, jerks or vibrations. If you know you want to go in close but are concerned about stability, consider a tripod, holding the camera with both hands or bracing it against something. Another way to help you achieve a clear image is to zoom in until you find a spot you like that’s in focus and then zoom out. This will show that your image looks fine at both depths of field.
