From Goya’s Saturn Devouring His Son to Bosch’s Garden of Earthly Delights to Picasso’s Guernica, you’ll find there’s always a little excitement to the putrid and weird.
1. Francisco Goya- Saturn Devouring His Son
Put down your lunch, and look at deities eating babies. If anything will make you toss your cookies, itís Goyaís representation of the Greek Titan Cronus (Romanized as Saturn) systematically eating his children because he feared one would overthrow him. Itís not clear what salad or fruit would serve as an adequate palate cleanser after eating your children or looking at this painting.
