2. Artemisia Gentileschi- Judith Slaying Holofernes
The thing to remember about Italian Baroque painter Gentileschiís work is that she follows the more-famous Caravaggio, who also depicted the same scene. Yet if you compare the two, Gentileschiís painting is undeniably nastier. Look at the determined expression on Judithís face, which serves as an example that a woman painter usually knows better what a woman is thinking when she chops off a manís head.
