3. Pablo Picasso- Guernica

If you can get past the tendency of Picasso to take objects out of perspective, this is still quite a grim scene. Guernica represents the bombing of the village by the same name during the Spanish Civil War. Note the woman weeping for her dead child, and the human skull on the horse. Picasso wanted to get the worldís attention for the atrocities being committed during the war, and he was undoubtedly successful.
